TRÓPICO, la nueva colección cápsula de Anna Cortina

El pasado jueves, 14 de junio de 2018, la firma de bolsos Anna Cortina, conocida por aunar en sus colecciones cápsula arte, moda y artesanía, presentó en el Soho House de Barcelona las colecciones cápsula de sus artistas de cabecera Philippe Boonen, GarbikKW, Andrea Lukács y GhadaH Al Ajmi, y su nueva cápsula TRÓPICO, bajo el concepto ‘Art Meets Fashion’. Ilustrada por el artista gráfico y nuevo colaborador de la firma, Iván Forcadell, está inspirada en la fauna y la vegetación tropical.

On Thursday 14th June 2018, the handbag Brand Anna Cortina, known for pooling together art, fashion and handcraftsmanship in her capsule collections, presented at Soho House in Barcelona the capsule collections by her top artists Philippe Boonen, GarbikKW, Andrea Lukács y GhadaH Al Ajmi, and her new capsule TROPICAL, under the concept of ‘Art Meets Fashion’. Illustrated by the graphic artist and new collaborator for the brand, Iván Forcadell, is inspired by tropical flora and fauna.

Iván Forcadell es de esas personas que no entiende de medias tintas, como su arte. Te gusta o no. A mí me gusta su universo aparentemente caótico (su caos controlado) repleto de colores alegres y trazos rápidos, donde formas, conceptos y personajes de su imaginario crean un nuevo mundo refrescante para el resto de los mortales.

Iván Forcadell is one of those people who doesn’t do any half measures, like in his art. Whether you like it or not. I like his seemingly chaotic universe (his controlled chaos) that’s filled with fun colours and fast brushstrokes, where shapes, concepts and characters from his imagination create a new refreshing world for the rest of us mere mortals.

Tras conocerle, el artículo que le dedicó María García Prades en la revista ‘Metal Magazine’ cobró pleno sentido: “Para Iván Forcadell cualquier material es bueno. Le gusta experimentar con ellos y siempre dice que ‘mientras manche o dé volumen todo es válido’. Le gusta salir de su zona de confort y arriesgarse; pero no te líes, los conceptos los tiene muy claros, hay ideas detrás y, sobre todo, hay un mensaje que se nutre de una búsqueda exhaustiva, casi obsesiva.”

Having met him, the article that was dedicated to him by María García Prades in the magazine ‘Metal Magazine’ made perfect sense: “For Iván Forcadell any material is good. He like experimenting with them and he always says that ‘while I’m making my mark or adding volume, anything goes’. He likes going out of his comfort zone and taking risks; but don’t get mixed up, the concepts are very clear to him, there are ideas behind them and, overall, there is a message that is fed by a thorough search, which is almost obsessive.”

Tras el éxito alcanzado el pasado mes de octubre de 2017 en la presentación que hizo la firma Anna Cortina en el hotel AXEL Madrid, y posteriormente en Nueva York en una de las galerías de arte más exclusivas del Upper East Side con una cogida espléndida, era el turno de hacer la presentación en la ciudad que vio nacer este proyecto lleno de ilusión y arte, Barcelona.

Following the success achieved in the past month of October 2017 in the presentation that the Brand Anna Cortina did at the AXEL Madrid hotel, and after that in New York at one of the most exclusive art galleries on the Upper East Side with a wonderful turnout, it was time to do the presentation in the city which oversaw the beginning of the project full of excitement and art, Barcelona.

Como ya os comenté en su día, Anna Cortina presenta en sus colecciones cápsula modelos de bolsos clásicos e icónicos y diseños propios de piel auténtica hechos a mano con materiales de la más alta calidad y pintados a mano uno a uno, con numeración y de edición limitada. Los bolsos son el lienzo para expresar una nueva forma de arte, creando así un producto único, latente y en constante innovación.

As I already told you at the time, Anna Cortina presents classic and iconic handbags in her capsule collections where all of them are her own designs handmade from real leather with the highest quality materials and hand painted one by one, in limited quantities and editions.
