Mayla Stockholm, la firma de ropa sueca que apuesta por la moda sostenible y razonable

¿Sabíais que la industria de la moda es la segunda industria más contaminante en el mundo? Encabeza la lista la industria del petróleo, pero lamentablemente la nuestra tiene muchas huellas ambientales negativas (info, aquí). Firmas como Mayla Stockholm tienen claro que la industria en global necesita cambiar radicalmente para mejorar su impacto ambiental y actuar de manera más responsable. No podemos cambiarlo todo, pero sí podemos hacer pequeñas cosas cambiando algo. Y aunque creamos que nuestro esfuerzo es ínfimo, todo suma y deja huella.

Did you know that the fashion industry is the second least environmentally friendly sector in the world? At the top of the list is the petrol industry, but regrettably our one has many environmental black holes (more info, here). Brands like Mayla Stockholm are aware that the industry in general needs to change radically in order to improve its environmental impact and are act more responsibly. We cannot change everything, but we can make a difference by changing one or two little things. And although we believe that our effort may be futile, it all adds up and every little helps the cause.

Mayla Stockholm es una marca sueca fundada en 2010 por la diseñadora Marlene Abraham. En sus inicios la firma destacaba por sus blusas y vestidos de seda de carácter atemporal, pero con el paso del tiempo, el anhelo de sus clientas y el éxito adquirido, la marca amplió sus colecciones produciendo chaquetas, americanas, pantalones, faldas, ‘denim’ y excelentes prendas de punto.

Mayla Stockholm is a Swedish brand that was founded in 2010 by the designer Marlene Abraham. From the beginning the brand stood out for its silk blouses and dresses because of their timeless nature – but as time as gone on – the longing of their clients and the success achieved, the brand has expanded on its collections by producing jackets, blazers, trousers, skirts, denim and excellent knitted items of clothing.

La firma recicla prendas dándoles una segunda vida (gran parte de su colección sale del reciclaje); utiliza la seda como tela principal, no solo por su fantástica apariencia, sino porque la seda es un recurso altamente renovable con menos impacto ambiental que otras muchas telas, y, entre otras muchas cosas, su empaque es 100% sostenible. The brand recycles items of clothing by reviving and reinventing them (a large part of their collection stems from recycling); they use silk as the main fabric, not only thanks to its beautiful appearance, but also because silk is a highly renewable resource that has a lower environmental impact that many other materials, and, among many other things, its packaging is 100% sustainable.
