Validate yourself. Sailor-style and vinyl stripes? Why not…

If anything has invited us to this damned 2020 it is to be genuine, to experiment and to free ourselves. An absolute push to show us what we’re like, to break away from our roles and what’s expected of us, to take our own risks a bit (or a lot), to take ourselves away from whatever they will say… Let’s validate ourselves without waiting for others to do so!

2020 is becoming the year of the long lasting items of clothing, the year of taking an unexpected turn, the year of being bold with new combinations and, why not? The year for allowing us to get it right and make mistakes with the new trends by enjoying the journey.

Among the trends that have been successful in 2020 and will keep being worn in 2021: the ‘shacket’, what has become known as the checked jacket, christened thus to be a hybrid between a shirt and a jacket –the classic outerwear with a silhouette between the first one and with the fabrics from the second one– , the knitted waistcoat, the tracksuit bottoms, the metallic trousers, the quilted coat, the zipped jumper, the mocasins with white socks, the bib neckline, the knitted polo shirt, the leather shirt, the leggings…

My choice: I have combined two apparently different and opposite items of clothing like the sailor style striped jumper with pearl and crystal detailing on the neckline by Pinko, and the vinyl trousers by N21. The combo turns out to be novel and the faux fur coat by Iro Paris adds more of a contrast of fabrics and adds light to the look.

Let the new airs blow over the seas to always refresh our minds.
