Yes, the biker is the jacket par excellence for between seasons. Choose it well and it will last forever (autumn 2020 version)

If we were to make a list of staple basics, many of us would agree that jeans, the white shirt, the raincoat, the black coat, the blazer, the tailored suit, the trainers, the ballet pumps and, among other basics, we would add, without a shadow of a doubt, the leather jacket in its different versions: biker, blazer, bomber, etc.

The mid season means a challenge in terms of temperatures; choosing an outerwear item of clothing that suits the daily changing meteorological climate (being warm enough without feeling excessively heavy) is no easy task. Among the denim jacket, the leather jacket, the raincoat, the military jacket, the overcoat and the blazer, the leather jacket wins with flying colours, although I must admit that the raincoat is a great second place.

Its virtues? Its extreme versatility. It works with a thousand different styles thus transforming them. It dresses down romantic dresses, long skirts and leather leather skirts, it boosts the dark side of our jeans, it takes away the seriousness of the most elegant looks with masculine trousers or harem pants, etc.

My choice: The Golden dark leather studded and spiked jacket by the Italian brand Golden Goose. A reinterpretation of the classics from the brand, whereby the studs and spikes shine through, inspired by the hallmark Argentinian port city style.

The timelessness of the jacket will always be a hit, and if we go for the biker option, we will add some extra versatility to our autumnal looks. Yes, the biker is the jacket par excellence for between seasons. Choose it well and it will be everlasting – although they say that nothing lasts forever.
