Sustainable, fresh and feminine, that’s what the soul of the Barcelona brand Ten Twelve is like.

Over the months of strict confinement, we are wondering if the pandemic will change us for the better as a society, we would be capable of looking inside, deepening in terms of the values and the greatness of the simplest of things. Unfortunately, not. The human being is selfish and forgetful; you merely have to look at how the fresh outbreaks are multiplying due to a non-existent sense of community. Having said that, within the fashion industry and at a personal level, I feel that it is time to support ourselves, to go for brands that make the effort to salvage simplicity in their origins, and they are doing it out of respect and giving sustainability a new route to take. Ten Twelve is one of them. Let me explain.

Founded in 2012 and based in Barcelona, Ten Twelve is creating small collections whereby the simplicity, freshness and light from the Mediterranean are reflected in eclectic and timeless designs with high-quality fabrics that come from manufacturers in Spain, Portugal and India. Responsible production, sustainability and respect for the environment are their premises.  

According to Nagore Toribio and Olga Lecina, the founders and designers of the brand, at the time of designing “we want to feel comfortable, to highlight what reminds us of our femininity. We are looking for noble natural materials, like cotton, linen, silk… We want to bring out the personalities of every one of us and share them with any woman”. 

You can find items of clothing from their Spring-Summer 2020 collection at BEGU _U, a small store situated in the town of Begur, on the Costa Brava, which is looking for differentiation by expertly bring together collections that champion slow fashion with looks that are rich in prints and warm colours, with all of them having a somewhat folk-style vibe.
