The denim trend. Long (and ever) lasting.

This spring, among the denim items of clothing that are going to be worn the most there is room for pieces that are out of the ordinary and others that must be ‘recycled’: wide-leg jeans, ripped jeans, denim Bermuda shorts, and in terms of the denim fabric there are the crazy patchwork quilting effect, logomania jeans, graffiti print jeans, very decorated denim, long jean skirts, very dark indigo denim and, total denim, my choice for today.

«Poring over the previous trends, it seems logical that this look would come to the fore again: the Canadian tuxedo or total denim look are experiencing a very, very sweet moment thanks to all the possibilities that they give rise to. Whether it be tailoring, matching shirt and trousers or matching micro-tops and bottoms, the options and licences to wear jeans from top to bottom are more suited than ever to the consumer’s taste».

My choice: The decorated denim shirt by the brand One Teaspoon. This Spring – Summer 2022 decorations have invaded the denim territory to become more than just a timeless staple item. I have added some ripped jeans by Zara that I have from several seasons ago. This is one of the trends that has also been repeated this season: «next spring we are going to reuse (and to the max) the ripped jeans that we bought (or made) this year. The possibilities can be adapted to all tastes: the hemlines can be more restrained, as Vetements suggest at knee-length, or a little more extreme, as in the case of Dolce & Gabbana. A styling plus: the Italian brand suggest, like Coach with their Bermuda shorts, showing off a glimpse of our underwear (not necessarily a thong), like we did in the early 2000s».
