Nine years after my first Lempelius puffer, I continue to trust the German brand that redefines winter elegance and timelessness. This season, my choice has a name: the Fia Barn Jacket.
Nine years have passed since I discovered Lempelius. I still remember my first puffer jacket perfectly — a piece that combined lightness, comfort, and that effortlessly modern spirit that few outerwear brands truly capture. Since then, every winter has had one thing in common: the certainty that a Lempelius puffer jacket is far more than a functional piece; it’s a style statement that stands the test of time.

The timeless spirit of Lempelius
Founded in Berlin in 2004 by Bettina Lempelius, the German brand was born inspired by Nordic purity and the idea of creating contemporary pieces designed to last. The exceptional quality and minimalist aesthetic define its identity — a combination that turns its coats into genuine urban icons. Their designs do not follow trends; instead, they transcend them. Each piece is made to accompany us for years, not seasons.

Over this decade, I’ve seen how Lempelius has evolved while staying true to its essence. Its silhouettes remain clean, its padding light, its fabrics impeccable, and its colors — always perfectly balanced — play beautifully with winter light. From classic neutrals to bolder shades, each collection preserves that coherent aesthetic that makes the brand unmistakable. And most importantly, Lempelius continues to champion responsible, local production, staying faithful to its commitment to sustainability and European craftsmanship.

My first encounter with the brand was almost by chance, yet since then it has become a constant relationship. I’ve been fortunate enough to follow the evolution of its collections, to try different cuts and colors, and to confirm that comfort and elegance can coexist. In fact, nine years later, I still get excited about their new pieces.

This season, my choice is the Fia Barn Jacket. It represents everything I admire about Lempelius: it’s contemporary, feminine, and functional. It strikes the perfect balance between the structure of a classic coat and the modern lightness that defines the brand. Its slightly relaxed silhouette — impeccably cut — wraps the body with the ease of a well-learned gesture. It’s a piece that doesn’t try to draw attention, yet it does so effortlessly, through discreet elegance, its touch, its fall, and the way it adapts to daily life without losing sophistication.
Perhaps that’s why, nine years later, I still look forward to each new collection with the same excitement as when I first wore that original Lempelius puffer.
